I read this article merely a few short hours of having a similar conversation with a colleague. “I know what I want to do and what I love,” she said. “but I’m not sure it’s what I’m good at doing.” We’ve all been there, right? We have natural tendencies, inborn talents, and interests that are so much a part of us we don’t know where they originated. When our work and play align, it’s not work. We love the task of doing something we love, and while it’s work, it doesn’t feel like work. Let’s take this concept to a deeper level and talk about the connection we have to our work and what it feels like when what we do is out of alignment with our passion. Some people don’t like the word passion. If you’re one of them, think in terms of what gets you up in the morning. What is it that energizes and motivates you to carry on?
